KSKJ Life, American Slovenian Catholic Union

KSKJ Life, also known as the American Slovenian Catholic Union, is an United States-based Slovene fraternal organization. It was founded in 1894 and maintains its headquarters in Joliet, Illinois. The organization is open to all Catholic Slovenes and in 1979, it boasted a membership of 42,000 spread across 130 lodges in 19 states. The organization is involved in multiple activities, including recognition dinners, state outdoor activities, children contests, picnics, and Christmas parties. They also grant scholarships for college and technical schools, and are involved in charity work supported by both local lodges and the national organization. The organization publishes a newspaper called KSKJ Voice and has undergone name changes, including American Slovenian Catholic Union (K.S.K.J) and Grand Carniolian Slovenian Cat.
