Liberty National Life Insurance Company, now known as Globe Life Liberty National Division, is a provider of life and supplemental health insurance. The company is located in McKinney, Texas and was originally founded in Birmingham, Alabama in 1900. It offers individual coverage through home and workplace sales and is licensed in 49 states. The company traces its origins back to a fraternal organization called the Heralds of Liberty. In 1921, the name was changed to Liberty Life Assurance Company and later in 1929, it was incorporated as a stock company and renamed Liberty National Life Insurance Company. The Liberty National Holding Company was created in 1979 and expanded by acquiring United American, Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company, and American Income Life. In the 1980s, the Liberty National Insurance Holding Company became Torchmark Corporation which then became Globe Life on August 8, 2019.
