The company’s corporate structure protected the interests of policyholders by creating a mutual system whose profits belong to the insured. Between 1984 and 1986, the company transitioned from a mixed stock and policyholder model to a full stock ownership model. The company offers life insurance, health insurance, and annuities. In June 2020, ManhattanLife confirmed plans to grow its national presence with the purchase of Standard Life and Casualty Insurance Company. The company’s headquarters are located in Houston, Texas.
