Pacific Century Life Insurance Corporation, also known as FWD Group, is a multinational insurance company based in Hong Kong. It was founded in 2013 as the insurance arm of Pacific Century Group. The company offers life and medical insurance, general insurance, and employee benefits in Asia. As of 2021, FWD Group managed US$63 billion in assets. The company operates in several Asian countries including Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Cambodia. FWD Group has expanded its operations through various acquisitions, including ING Group’s insurance and pension units in Hong Kong, Macau, and Thailand, and MetLife’s business in Hong Kong. As of 2023, FWD Group has approximately 10 million customers across 10 markets and employs 6,100 people.
