Trustmark Insurance Company is a privately held employee benefits company based in Lake Forest, Illinois. It was founded in 1913 as the Brotherhood of All Railway Employees, and later adopted the name Benefit Association of Railway Employees in 1917. In 1963, the company became Benefit Trust Life Insurance Company and in 1994, it adopted the name “Trustmark Insurance Company” upon merger with Bankers Mutual Life of Freeport. Trustmark has several subsidiaries including Trustmark Life Insurance Company, CoreSource, Inc., Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions, Trustmark Employer Medical, and Star Marketing and Administration, Inc. (Starmark). The company offers a range of products including life, disability, accident and critical illness insurance, benefit administration and health management services, employer-sponsored health benefit solutions, and integrated population health management, condition management, wellness and health advocacy solutions. Trustmark is targeted towards midsize and larger employers, including Fortune 500 companies, and health plans.
