WHY IUL

The best of both worlds

Life insurance that protects your family and builds tax-free wealth.

Market-Linked Growth

Your cash value grows based on index performance (S&P 500, etc.) without directly investing in the market.

Downside Protection

A 0% floor means you never lose money due to market downturns. Your gains are locked in.

Tax-Free Access

Borrow against your cash value tax-free for retirement income, emergencies, or opportunities.

How It Works

Life insurance that builds wealth

An IUL policy combines permanent life insurance protection with a cash value component that grows based on the performance of a market index—without the risk of losing money when markets drop.

1

Pay flexible premiums

Part goes to life insurance, the rest builds cash value.

2

Cash value grows with index

Credited interest based on S&P 500 or other indices (with caps and floors).

3

Access funds tax-free

Take policy loans for retirement income, major purchases, or emergencies.

How IUL Compares

vs. 401k, Roth IRA, and other retirement accounts

Income limits? None
Contribution limits? Much higher
Market risk? 0% floor
Tax on growth? Tax-deferred
Death benefit? Tax-free

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about indexed universal life insurance.

1 How is IUL different from whole life insurance?
While both are permanent life insurance, IUL offers potentially higher returns tied to market indices (with downside protection), flexible premiums, and adjustable death benefits. Whole life has guaranteed fixed returns but lower growth potential.
2 What is the 0% floor?
The floor is the minimum interest rate credited to your cash value. With a 0% floor, even if the market index loses value, your cash value won't decrease due to market performance. You keep your gains from good years.
3 How do I access my cash value?
You can take policy loans against your cash value. These loans are tax-free (as long as the policy stays in force) and don't require credit checks or approval. You can use the money for anything—retirement income, emergencies, or major purchases.
4 What are the caps on returns?
IUL policies typically have a cap (maximum) on the interest credited, often between 9-12%. So if the index gains 15%, you might only be credited 10%. However, you're protected from losses, which is the tradeoff.
5 How much coverage can I get?
Coverage amounts typically range from $100,000 to several million dollars, depending on your age, health, income, and goals. We'll help you determine the right amount based on your situation.
6 Is there a medical exam required?
For larger policies, a basic medical exam is usually required. However, some carriers offer no-exam options for smaller coverage amounts. We'll help you find the best option for your needs.
